Preparation

A kid this past week was talking about his friend that washed out of baseball

“He liked to compete, but I don’t think he really liked baseball”

You could write that on 95% of failed athletes gravestones

Of COURSE they like to compete. Of COURSE they want to win. That’s why they got into competitive sports in the first place

What so many lack is having the discipline to PREPARE

They fail to do what they need to OUTSIDE of games- an effective throwing program, consistent work on their swing, baseball specific development of strength, power and size -in order to be the best possible IN games

And their lack of discipline outside of the game eventually takes the game away from them-they “die for lack of discipline”

You have to put in consistent work outside of simply the team practice and team game schedule, or eventually, the sport will continue on, but you will be left behind
