Talent has 2 main components:
1ļøā£ Usually bigger (anthropomorphically) and taller than the average
2ļøā£ Genetic traits that allow for greater success than the average
For pitchers this is Glenohumeral joint (shoulder) total ROM especially the amount of external rotation; a positive sulcus sign; and high on the Beighton scale
For hitters itās greater concentration of myelin coating in the brain, allowing for much better ability to pattern objects in flight
All of this is genetic
Here's the key: all this you have NO CONTROL over-so it does not matter to YOUR process!!
Many donāt realize how good they could become if they focused on the one performance trait you CAN control: developmental
Developing strength, power, and athleticism above the norm is what bridges the GAP with the talent thatās EVERYWHERE at the higher levels!!
