One of the most important aspects of programming is understanding the Law of Accommodation
The Law of Accommodation states that response to stimulus decreases over time
Once the brain is no longer being challenged, it fails to adapt
This is why a program must be constantly evolving-nothing can be stagnant or repetitious
One of the ways we address the Law of Accommodation is by rotating bars
Different bars provide:
varied volumes in the periodization plan
different stimulus
stress muscle tissue in varied ways, building greater durability and injury prevention
addresses specific athlete needs
addresses specific athlete weak points
There are many variables to manipulate in an athletes program: understanding the Law of Accommodation is one of the most critical for achieving results!
