šŸ”„ How to Build Power Using Weight Releasers!

1ļøāƒ£ Weight Releasers allow for supramaximal load on the eccentric, speeding it up. The faster the eccentric, the faster the concentric. This enhances the stretch-shortening cycle-which has great transfer to developing explosive power!


2ļøāƒ£ Weight releasers can be used as much as 15-20% above 1RM, but it’s important to consider that if the weight is too heavy the elastic like properties of the stretch reflex will be negated. Your body will seek to protect you, not to lift more. For this reason we generally stay around 10% above 1RM. The goal is strong and fast, not slow and sloppy


3ļøāƒ£ Note that supramaximal eccentrics have a massive recovery demand both for the CNS and inducing much greater delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), so weight releasers should be used wisely in your periodization. If so, they’re a tremendous training tool for building raw power!
