🔥 How to Have *Consistent* Velo (vs being the “once upon a time” guy)

While new velo touch PR’s are important, a greater indicator of growth is a pitchers average. The MLB average FB velocity this year was 94.0; many low level pitchers have touched that once upon a time, but what seperates the guys who level up vs those who get released is that they throw hard consistently: every pitch, every outing, month after month.
In my opinion a pitchers velo consistency is closely tied to strength. Strength not only drives repeatable mechanics, but both work capacity (velo inning to inning), and recovery between outings. When guys lack the leg and upper back strength to decelerate the shoulder, the rotator cuff bears more of the brunt of each pitch; and thats what leads to fatigue that causes velo drops both within outings, and inconsistency/drops within seasons
For Noah ^ strength gains this past season brought new PR’s (92), but even better, his sit went from and up and down 83-87 range last year, to now 89-91 consistently.
All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty
